Got a fan and it definitely helped. Rode the “farthest” ever indoors! I also tried not to focus on the time/distance and just listen to my audio book but that is still difficult. 🙂 Baby steps!

Well so far riding outside is much more fun than riding inside, one of the main reasons I think is that you heat up a lot faster inside. Next time I will try a fan and let you know how it goes 🙂

Seriously – mid November, northern Illinois, 71 degrees. Â I think I have died and gone to heaven!! Â I had both bikes out today cause the weather was so nice. Â I think the hammer is going to drop soon though – they are saying snow flurries on Saturday…we will see! Â Also – BRUTUS!

It was supposed to be a Supermoon ride but by the time we rode the moon was already high in the sky. We rode to The Other Door for their delicious tacos which are some of my favorite ever.  Totally worth it even if the super moon was just average 🙂

Tree blocking my path on the trail today and at first I thought it was knocked down in a storm (even though its been sunny and clear here recently). I got off my bike to move the tree (don’t know what I was thinking – its a tree) and realized it had been chopped down by beavers!!!! Â I’m sorry story for every having doubted you!

Trail Courtesy and Yielding Etiquette state who should stop for who and what to do to be polite to others on the trail.  Most of the time it isn’t an issue as the trails aren’t crowded so most of the time people ignore (or never read) the rules.  But with the exceptional weather recently there has been a lot more traffic on the trail so it is more important than ever to be aware of other people, cyclists and animals on the trail.
Case in point: Â I saw these two and their horses yesterday on the trail and they seemed fine. Â I still stopped and waited for them to pass (it also give me a chance to take a drink and a breather!) so I could have probably have ridden by them today with no problem. However as I rounded the corner I noticed the Bay was upset and his rider was walking. Â This right there let me know to stop earlier then I normally would have an wait until they passed. Â Sadly my fellow cyclists (no one I knew, just some randos) continued to ride by at high speed further upsetting this guy. Â Let me tell you – horse are big, strong animals whose “flight or fight response” usually involves kicking you as they run away. Â Not something I want to mess with. Â It cost me about 1 min to wait for these guys to pass and made the day more pleasant for everyone.
If you are riding toward a horse, stop and wait (or get the ok from the rider to continue past), if you are coming from behind, announce yourself and let them know you are passing and slow your speed. Â Its trail courtesy, and its common courtesy. Â Be polite to your fellow trail users.

More and more and more picture because I can’t get enough of these beautiful fall days. Â Its amazing how wonderful the weather has been. Â I couldn’t ask for a better Autumn season. Â Today I even took a longer ride (Even though its still getting dark early, regardless of the nice weather) so I could enjoy it for longer)

I was really excited to ride south today as I assume the park is beautiful with all the fall colors but alas it was not to be! All the rain recently has swollen the river and the underpass was flooded. I turned around and rode back the other way but that underpass was flooded too!!!! /sigh It was a beautiful day though – I can’t believe this is November!!!
